About VSKE
Every election season, Kenyans are flooded with promises, campaign messages, political debates, social media posts, opinion polls, and endless streams of information.
Yet despite living in an age of information abundance, many voters still struggle to access clear, reliable, and easy-to-understand information about the people seeking public office and the issues that affect their daily lives.
And when we go to the ballot, the majority of Kenyan citizens often vote for a politician just because they’re popular, they were given more cash during the campaign. The worst part is that they go the tribal path.
Democracy works best when citizens are informed. Unfortunately, misinformation, political propaganda, ethnic mobilization, and personality-driven politics often make it difficult for voters to make decisions based on facts.
Vote Smart Kenya (VSKE) was created to help change that.
We are an independent civic information platform dedicated to empowering Kenyan voters with factual, accessible, and non-partisan information about governance, leadership, public policy, elections, and civic participation.
